A Mothers Influence
Happy Mother’s Day everyone! This truly is a holiday composed of so many emotions — more than anything, it’s gratitude. Motherhood is viewed from several perspectives: the children’s, the parents’, the spouses’, and the friends’.
There’s a great task attached to motherhood that we can all see. Whether it be because you are a mother, you’ve been raised by a mother, or you’ve witnessed various mothers…you know that all mothers are unique and passionate. Mothers give their all proudly and it molds us into the adults we are today. A mother nurtures her family from the moment she learns that she is beginning one. I’m sure you remember your mom’s favorite line when you needed to be corrected. I’m sure you can also remember the song that would make her feel better after a long week. Many memories come and go but most of us remember specifically when it comes to our mothers.
Isn’t it ironic how your mother’s ways and mannerisms linger behind you as you navigate life? This is what we call influence. It is my mother’s energetic energy and love of exploration that influenced me to remain upbeat in my journey. My mother traveled with me and enjoyed seeing me become a well rounded young lady. Since I had that experience growing up, what do you think I want to provide my children with? It is also my mom’s weekend cleaning resets that have subconsciously set a routine in my household. I don’t do everything exactly like my mother but she influences a lot of my behaviors, my beliefs, and my perspective. So many days pass by where I catch myself thinking “Now I’m starting to sound like my mom” and laugh it off.
To the mothers, thank you! Your role doesn’t go unnoticed by anyone in contact with you. You are dependable, loving, detailed, firm, and a foundation of trust. As a mother to two beautiful daughters who are early on in life — all I can feel is burning passion to provide my children with everything life has to offer. A house full of laughter. Family traditions. Kisses and hugs. There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t give my girls (unless it was harmful of course lol). Navigating motherhood requires true faith and endless love. So many mothers before me navigated these waters with grace and it inspires me to aim for that. While some days are challenging, I still go to sleep excited to do it all over again.
It is with great pleasure that I ask you to enjoy this day. If you are a mother, I hope you were able to spend this day how you requested. If you are the child, I hope you look at your mother and see a woman who put her all into you.
